Art and Solar Garden Array

Project

Art and Solar Garden Array

This project seeks to install an art and solar garden canopy array with featured showcase artwork that visually stimulates and educates, while providing shade and creating clean green sustainable solar energy for the new garden and center.  Intergenerational showcase artist artwork within the solar array structure will welcome and educate center visitors, while providing a carbon friendly sustainable footprint. Our long-term vision is to showcase art and solar installations with innovative, thought-provoking rationale, while providing sustainable operational cost savings to daily operations associated with the new center. As a result of increasing energy operational costs and current water shortages, we anticipate our new vibrant outdoor space and art solar garden pergola array will serve as a thought-provoking, beacon of inspiration for water conservation and energy efficiency within rural, low-income, underserved community installations. We are introducing messaging through visual presentation to bring about constructive conversation and debate for change, while reinforcing the overall long-lasting benefits to the whole community through installation and promotion of green sustainable solar energy. Our primary goal is to educate and advance innovative collective collaboration of the visual arts with the green horticultural industry and clean solar technology, showcasing long-term sustainable, eco-friendly, resource conscious installations. We anticipate success of this project creating a steppingstone to open conversations about expansion of additional solar installation opportunities in the future, highlighting the documented significant savings potential across multiple community wide applications, while providing equitable and significant energy cost savings and benefits for daily operations and services provided to every member in the Bristol community.
