The Town of Bristol Improvement Board was selected as one of the 4 grantees chosen to receive funding. Funding was provided toward a garden with raised bed planters, a historical mural, veterans memorial and a wind sculpture at the town’s new community center.

In June 2023, we were awarded an AARP Community Flagship Grant for installation of an art and solar garden array project among an applicant pool of over 3,600 applications. The Town of Bristol Improvements Board was selected for a second year in a row as one of 3 grantees chosen in Colorado to receive funding. Funding was provided to install an art and solar garden canopy array with featured showcase artwork that visually stimulates and educates, while providing shade and creating clean green sustainable solar energy for the new garden and center. This project will install a solar-powered shade structure at a new senior-community center which will showcase art installations for visitors to enjoy.
Adolph Coors Foundation: The vision of the Adolph Coors Foundation founders and trustees is to provide an avenue of opportunity for Coloradans to experience the best life possible. Since 1976, the Foundation has provided a total of 7,085 grants for a cumulative grant total of $289 million. In 2021, the Adolph Coors Foundation awarded 139 grants totaling $7.9 million.
Innovative Gator Base products and accessories, funded in part by the Colorado Garden Foundation, are part of collaborative efforts with Basalite Concrete Products for exterior hardscape installation of the new paver patio and walls welcoming all visitors to the new center.
Anschutz Family Foundation: In 1982, Fred and Marian Pfister Anschutz created the Anschutz Family Foundation as a result of many years of successful gas and oil, real estate and ranching ventures. In 2021 the Town of Bristol Improvements Board received a capital expense grant contribution for the construction of a multi-use Senior Community Center that provides activities focused on family and community in Bristol, Colorado.
Basalite Concrete Products: 22 pallets of donated hardscape construction products. Through the much-appreciated kind benevolence of Basalite Concrete Products, twenty-two pallets of donated hardscape materials, which included pavers and wall blocks/caps, were donated towards completion of the vibrant outdoor space augmenting the new center entrance. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to both Matthew Gooderum and Basalite Concrete Products for supporting our outdoor efforts.
Belson Outdoors: Belson supplied our Four (4) Two Rivers Style Steel Park Benches gracing the front of the new center. Two benches were generously funded by monies from AARP, and two additional benches were also generously funded by Colorado Garden Foundation. Welcome…Sit Back…Relax…Enjoy! Big Timbers Museum: Members of Big Timbers Museum and Prowers County Historical Society members graciously provided us with many historical artifacts, including publications, photos and other archival materials documenting the rich history of Bristol and Prowers County. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for their ongoing historical preservation contributions to both our project and all of Prowers County. Preserving local history is important, and our digital repository allows us to preserve this rich history in perpetuity.

Colorado Garden Foundation: In February 2022, the Town of Bristol Improvements Board was awarded a grant at the Colorado Garden and Home Show for construction of a new educational horticultural sensory therapy garden welcoming all visitors to our Bristol Senior-Community Center.
Colorado Garden Foundation awards grants to organizations and scholarships to individuals throughout Colorado. In the past 65 years, organizations throughout Colorado have received grants totaling more than $12 million from Colorado Garden Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to furthering the horticultural industry.

The Edmund T. and Eleanor Quick Foundation: Granting wishes to Colorado charitable organizations.The Edmund T and Eleanor Quick Foundation is a small private foundation created by Mary Eleanor Quick in honor of her husband, Edmund T Quick. Both Edmund and Eleanor were salt of the earth people, who earned their living farming and ranching dry land east of Denver. The Foundation has a target of making 50% of our grants to rural Colorado organizations.

Irene Grissom: As an artist, Grissom has earned numerous Southern Colorado awards, mainly in watercolor. The accolades include an “Excellence in Watercolor” at the 2009 Colorado State Fair.
John G. Duncan Charitable Trust: John G. Duncan was born in Sacramento, California in 1866. He lived a substantial portion of his life in Henderson, Kentucky, where he was actively involved in the philanthropic community. He later relocated to Denver, Colorado where he also supported a number of different non-profit organizations. Mr. Duncan died in 1955 at the age of 89.

Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation: Giving back to the area that helped their business grow has always been the philosophy of the Hoag and Rawlings families.
